Win a ufc championship and break record for the division in title defenses, preferably with finishes.

Come back to the UFC and defeat Jon Jones, rematch him and defeat Jon Jones again.

That's all people have to preclude Gegard from GOAT status? How bout he's never faced Romero, never faced Whittaker, is 1-1 with Jacare and instead of fighting the best MWs available is fighting glorified welterweights plus he barely got past Shelmenko.

Well, that certainly would do it. I'd figure he would have to go through a few fighters like Yoel, Weidman, Gas, or Rockhold before or after the Bobby K fight, which would only bolster his resume further.

Pretty much no chance of happening, but yeah he'd make a great case for GOAT if he somehow pulled that off.

Come back to UFC, smash Whittaker, Romero, defend title few times, move up and beat Jones.

It would take something like that and thats just not gonna happen.

So that's now the requirement to be the MW Goat smash a past his prime WW? Moose simply can't be considered the goat based on his UFC/Bellator MW run, and there's nobody in the MW ranks in Bellator currently that he could beat that would even put him into contention to be considered the MW Goat. Thing I don't get about Moose fanboys is why can't you just be he happy that your guy gets to wear another championship belt and make more money fighting easier opponents instead of trying to rewrite his UFC history by suggesting he left on a dominant streak, his best UFC win to this date is an on the skids Chris Weidman.

I think you’re barking up the wrong tree
If you go back and read my OP I said he’s GOAT ‘badass’
Right next to Hendo, he would fight anyone any weight without a fuck given

You cant dispute as far as badassery goes Moose is up there

Ah sorry thought you were jumping on the wagon suggesting he was already the GOAT, or MW Goat. I'll admit I'm a fan and he should have been paid to stay in the UFC but man his fanboys froth every-time he beats a nobdy in Bellator, and yes Rory McDonald at MW is a nobody, he'd get starched by anyone in the top 5, likely beaten by the top 10. Moose at best in my estimation would be 4th best MW in the UFC right now, and we haven't seen the ceiling on either of Costa or Adesayna which could theoretically push him to 6th.

He won't even beat Anderson't record in Bellator. Think about it, Anderson won 16 consecutive fights and won 11 consecutive title fights, 10 defenses. Gegard is already high mileage with 51 fights.

In Bellator? Impossible at this point. You cant be GOAT if you have never become the best in any division.

Beat Lyoto, Bader & Minakov in Bellator

Smash Whittaker and he's the GOAT

I see people are still trying to use failed drugs tests to discredit people's accomplishments.

He needs more big name wins and to win a UFC title which he can't do in Bellator, sadly.

The Uriah Hall lost really hurts his reputation though he just let it happen to himself no urgency like he showed in the rematch.

If he does a fight versus Bader this year holding both belts think that ups his stock a lot.

Any fighter regardless of weightclass honestly. I am not even a Mousasi fan boy but he has an efficient set of skills for fighting not just he sporting aspect of MMA. At times though he is too conservative for his own good.

I think a move up to LHW and take Baders belt would put him in the conversation.
