What's been up with the post-fight pressers lately?

It may seem like an odd nitpick, but I've noticed that at the last few pressers they have fighters coming out individually instead of as a group.

I don't like it. It changes the whole energy of the press conference. Anyone know why this change was made and whether or not it's here to stay?

I agree it takes the fun out and is inefficient

Id imagine some fighters were getting sick of sitting there for ages and not getting asked any questions

It's dumb. That's not how the shit is supposed to go down.

Dana (or someone) is supposed to come out, greet everybody and give the live gate and bonus info. Then we bounce around to different fighters. Both the winners and losers share the stage together. And occasionally we get some fireworks a la Rockhold/Bisping.

    This individual shit ruins it.

It lets the media ask everyone questions instead of just focusing on the most popular fighters. I think its here to stay. I think its good.

I was trying to think of fireworks in the post fight but couldnt think of any, the rockhold/bisbing is a good one.

They really should quit trying to "legitimize" the UFC and just let it be what it is. Which is an organization that hosts events where two people get locked in a cage and try to injure each other.

This also. Dana is half the fun.

Ya I change my mind might as well see the winner and loser together.

It may ensure that each fighter gets an equal amount of time and attention but from a spectator's point of view it's a lot less fun. At least in my opinion.

It's half an hour of their life. That's not too much to ask.

It sucks to think we may never get moments like Rock/Bisping again.

But it doesn't let the media ask 'everyone' questions. Fewer fighters get interviewed in the new format. If they had a proper post fight presser, Paul Craig and Leslie Smith would've been there too. Craig won performance of the night, while Leslie won the fotn fight. Neither were banged up. There used to be a lot more winners showing up for questions, definitely the bonus winners.

It was done at UFC 200 because the new t-mobile arena didnt have a room ready and built that was big enough to hold a proper press conference (all the pre fight stuff was done at the mgm grand), so they had to build a marquee or something and all the fighters came out one by one because of lack of space

think the media and fighters preferred it that way so they kept on doing it

the trouble with a lot of those post fight pressers is that theres 8 fighters sitting there, but only 2 get asked any questions.

I agree. There were 2 things I looked forward to watching after a UFC card. My favorite was the Dana White scrum with media which he axed a while ago. Now the post fight pressers are being hacked apart. Lame

Exactly. It's bullshit. Now it's just pure information without much entertainment value. It doesn't FEEL right.

I agree, new setup needs to go

Im pretty sure it was because only a couple of the fighters were actually asked a question while the betas were ignored
