I'm not a boxer, and dont train at all... I just want something I can hit, and practice a few combinations on, to get in shape. I'd prefer something where no drilling or serious mounting is involved. Something I can just hang in my room or something. Any ideas?

Anyone tried one of these? Or heard anything about them?

I would make every reasonable effort to train with a 100+ lb heavy bag hanging by chain. If you live in an apt and have no garage or basement to fix a bag to the ceiling, I would look to make use of a heavy bag at a common location such as a YMCA, your local gym, etc.

How about stand alone heavy bags like this?

Either get a heavy bag by chain to ceiling or wall mount or stand. Free standing ones blow.

Punch them hard and they move
Kick them hard and they fall
Sooner or later the water will start leaking. Mine lasted about 8 months. I gues its good for an apartment

you can get a stands that are tested up to 200kg you know.

They take up a bit of space but they're pretty good if you can't drill holes

Don't bother with free standing unless your

1) a recovering cancer patient
2) weigh under 110 lbs
3) a woman :D

Thanks for the advice guys. The free standing one seemed the most practical, but I had a sneaking suspicion they were kinda lame, and slid around or fell over.
