What wrestlers are only wrestlers to hold a series of championships

Like for example I'm pretty sure that Samoa Joe is the only wrestler to have won the ROH, TNA and NXT championships. Also Seth Rollins is only guy that I can think of that has been ROH, NXT and WWE champ. Any others that you can think of?

 

brock lesnar is the only one to hold the wwe and ufc titles

 

You can expand Lesnar to WWE, UFC, NCAA and IWGP.

Kurt Angle you have WWE, WCW, TNA, IWGP, NCAA and Olympic. The WCW reign is kind of questionable since it took place as part of WWE during the Invasion. But it's kind of as valid of a world title as WWE having 2 world champions during the brand extension.

 

Road Warriors were the only AWA, NWA, and WWF champions.

 

Keep in mind the only titles that qualify for this thread are world titles. So Tag Teams and Womens championships qualify since they're the top womens and tag team chamionships for their division. No championships like Intercontinental, United States, Cruiserweight, Television, European or Hardcore.

Dudley Boyz are the only WWE, WCW, ECW and TNA Champs.

 

Kurt Angle – WWE, WHC, WCW, TNA and IWGP.

 

Stone Cold Steve Austin- WWE and Money Dollar Champion.

 

Dudleys - ECW, NJPW, NWA, TNA, WCW, WWE (both).

 

Isn't there a guy that has won the IC title as three different "characters" essentially?

 

I think Bret is the only one to win the triple crown in both WCW and WWE.

 

I don't know about 3 but you have Hunter Hearst Helmsley/Triple H and Rocky Maivia/The Rock.
Oh and Johnny Nitro/John Morrison.
Wade Barrett/Bad News Barrett.

I'm pretty sure that Flair was triple crown in both WWE and WCW. The WCW Tag Team title might've been a NWA title but same difference.

 

I have to assume that Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas are the only 2 guys to team with each as tag champs in WWE and ROH.

 

Vader has won All Japan, New Japan and WCW titles. (Lack of WWF title is glaring.)

Seconded. WCW, ECW, and Big Gold Belt reigns (no pun intended) post-Invasion were all determined by a single entity.

 

That's why I said I wasn't sure if Angle's WCW title should count. But what is your opinion on WWE having 2 world titles at the same time? I mean if you won both the WWE and World Heavyweight title in the initial brand extension you should only get credit for 1 world title.

 

That's kind of the problem with the brand split: you need two titles and you need equal titles.

Seth and Finn are fighting for a title that Rock and Austin didn't feud over, Ric Flair didn't win sixteen (Woooo!) times, that Shawn Michaels didn't hold in the middle of the ring while on his knees and with tears in his eyes.

The upside is that, after SummerSlam, one title will be held by either Seth/Finn and the other by Dean/Dolph. If it was Orton/Cena for one of those, an audience couldn't help but see it as the greater title because the bigger names are attached.

They do a good job with the US and IC titles in opposite shows but having a women's title on both is both necessary and problematic. Do you have women on one show fighting for nothing or put them all on one show? No. Do you have enough depth for two women's divisions? No.

Raw will soon have five titles on their show: WWE, IC, Tag Team, Women's, and Cruiserweight. Seems a bit... out of balance?

 

Also the original brand split really muddied up the world title value. Not only did you have 2 world titles but you had wayyyyy to frequent of title changes from 2005-10. You have guys like Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz and Mark Henry as world champs who would've never sniffed a world championship in a 1 world title only company.

Also tired of the MITB clause. Now you're forced to shoehorn a title win for someone in the next year just because instead of letting the storyline title changes just flow naturally.

 

Something tells me that RVD is probably an answer in some respect here.

Jeez, I forgot how many titles he had in WWE. WWE champion, Hardcore champion, IC, European, both tag titles, and the WWECW title.
