I’m hearing “super lightweight” thrown around a lot. I like it, but some others don’t. How about light welterweight?

And what about 225? I vote for “cruisersweight.” We basically took all of our weight division names from boxing already. Why stop now?

165 is McGregor weight and 195 in Franklin weight

Above Average Manlets

Non existent.

Super lightweight > light welterweight
It already exists, to be honest.

MMA did copy the name of the weight class from boxing, but it's also weird that the weight limit is different. Example; WW in boxing is 147 while WW in MMA is 170. Either way is this even true that they will start a new weight class? If so maybe junior WW

I'd rather introduce weight class close to the median like this than on the fringes where you have weak divisions. LW and WW can afford some talent leeching. Now maybe they can scrap FLW and some of the female weight classes and keep all the divisions strong since they'll have extra belts to play around with and fill PPV main events with.

If we're scrapping divisions start with the garbage that is LHW and HW. Pointless, old, and thinner than dickskin.

They could alter the divisions. In the lighter weights, 15 lbs is a fair jump.
125 is so weak just because not many grown men weight that.

How about add 5 percent to all the classes and make the weigh in the day of or make them be within a certain amount or percentage at at fight time to get rid of the dangerous cuts. Dump 125 and make it 135 (since adding 5 lbs with later weigh ins). 135, 145, 157, 170, 183, 198, 220, and heavyweight. That gets rid of a division that will always be thin at 125
The cuts have cost fights and I can't imagine they aren't driving injuries too.
Same number of classes, but adding a competitive division . 220 would be an awesome division, lots of guys who are small heavyweight or big lightweights would fit there nicely.
