The town of Yakutia, in Siberia. Located in the autonomous Sakha Republic region of Russia.

You can hammer a nail with a banana left outside.
The lowest recorded temprature was - 83.9 F.
Typical Winter temps can range from the negative 30s to negative 50s.
Lots of parked cars have blankets.

Oymyakon is the coldest town actually but I would live in Yakutsk for a year or so for a very very high salary and if I had a great wife or I was given a harem or something.

Wouldn’t take too much for me to live there a few years on a work assignment. I love the cold. Loved in North Dakota
5 years and now in Montana. My favorites time of the year is the hard part of winter. This is colder still, but I’d try it.

A coat, gloves, hat and the warmth of our lord Jesus Christ or Ganesha!

If you are outside and need to poop or pee, what a friggin hassle it must be.

When you need to go someplace by car, you have to keep the car running while you go about your chores.

as long as i have internet then i would be fine selling legos from my winter abode. I would just get groceries delivered.

A Russian instagram model to make the nights a little warmer

I've been in -70 weather (with the wind chill, actually temp was -57), and I can tell you it fucking sucks.

I'm not sure what it would take, but at this point I'm going to say nothing could make me live there permanently. Millions of dollars, I'd consider a short term (up to 5 year) stay.

I complain and whine when it's in the 20s I can't imagine in the negatives let alone -83

I wouldn't mind living there for 1 winter if I had a nice well insulated house, plentifull hot water on demand, decent internet service, knew some locals and had interesting things to do. I live in the upper midwest where temps can dip below zero and windchill can dip below -20F, but Yuktia is a whole different level of cold.
