Most likely that the repeated elbows, knees, body shots and other strikes would have worn Cormier down enough and made his movement slow enough for Jones to taken him to the ground at will and win the rest of the fight even with just position control.

DC landed some really nice right hands and leg kicks but It honestly didnt look like DC had enough power to finish Jones after the 1st round.

The two other most likely outcomes are

1. The fight goes to a close Decision and the winner is any ones guess
2. Jones finishes DC in the championship rounds after taking him down and following up with ground and pound.
