What would a brutal ground and pound loss do to Conor's legacy?

Would the hype finally die or would the built in excuses save him? For example, "well Conor hadn't fought in 2 years" or "he did really good considering he fought a man tree times his size"

I want to laugh at this, but knowing McGregor fans they will most likely use something like this as an excuse.

Everyone's hype dies after a loss, 2 months ago Stipe was the greatest HW. Remember Aldo getting slept, that was the end of his train

Even if Conor gets his head caved in, his fans would cry "Ring Rust" and demand a rematch which he'll get instantly. Conor fans have a list of excuses ready for any situation.

They won't care as long as he still posts on his social media and gives them pretentious BS to quote.

Conor has never lost a fight fairly if you ask his fans, this one will be no different

Of course if he wins any excuse for losing is then irrelevant

It would deflate him a bit, just like the first Nate loss. He would go into hiding for a year or two, his fan boys would keep him in the spotlight by way of Conor threads. Then in a couple of years, Conor will emerge as if he is still the king for another big time money fight jumping the line ahead of anyone because, well, he is Conor.

Biggest draw in MMA history, one of the most lethal strikers of all time, KO's against ranked fighters, champions and a legendary fighter against the odds, first simultaneous two division champ.....

How can the word hype even be used with a 2x multiple weight champion...who's beaten the best in the business? I think many of you are in so much denial over what conor has accomplished, it's almost mind boggling...still talking about "ending the hype" that just shows how incredibly delusional some are on here.

Apparently not much. Diaz beat his ass and then Conor went on to get a 100 million dollar boxing payday.

Just shows how blind the average fight fan actually is.

Gone into hiding?? are you trying to rewrite history to what you wish it would be? Well, here's what actually did happen....conor lost, then pretty much called for an immediate rematch...trained his ass off, came back and beat a full camp diaz...beat his ass actually...if that fight was scored properly, or today, the fight wouldn't have been even close...the 2 knockdowns in one round, should have been a 10-8 round...today it would have been...

    As do the haters...

"tony is the better fighter. Conor is lucky Tony was injured and couldn't fight Khabib"

    Rinse and repeat.

It depends on what he does next with his career, but nothing can take away from the fact that he won the belt in 2 divisions, and that he was the UFC's biggest star for quite a few years. His ranking in the top 100 all-time great MMA fighters will go down is all.

You really can't make this shit up. Conor has lost via sub 3 times. No one has ever debated that...because you can't. He tapped.

The delusions of the haters are getting worse.

Bank account is all that matters regardless of what they say, you can not cash or deposit a legacy. When his grandchildren are ask about him they will say he was rich and so are we what else do you want to know?
