:icon_cry2So Silva just signed a 10-fight contract with the UFC. That simply means he will fight for about 3 years more. That translates that he is going nowhere and that he will fight whoever is on top. So Weidman, shall he win his next fight (or 2), will obviously get his shot. That also allows enough time for him to fight against GSP and Jones (fights he already agreed on). Even if we allow that he will probably fight Bisping next (if he beats Vitor), and then we shall see who's next. But what will the haters cry about now???:icon_cry2
no one would ever complain about silva signing a ten fight extension if anything it's prove of what i said all along, there's plenty of time in the future for gsp - anderson fight, and anderson - jones fight it's the silva fans who mainly persist that time is running out and that gsp had to fight him immediately on anderson's schedule instead of gsp's timeline
yep... same haters who were claiming Silva wouldn't fight Jones... now they are counting on his losing... good one! At least you admit he will fight Jones!!!
Why does Weidman need a fight or two? I'd have no problem with him fighting Anderson after he heals up.
Silva is a great, great fighter. While I doubt that he will fight 10 more times, it is obviously good news that he will be around for a while longer. I don't understand this "agreed to fight GSP and Jones" stuff. Are there some signed contracts I don't know about? I will believe those "super fights" when I see them. And, to be clear, I don't think that Silva is in any way obligated to fight guys not in his division
I love Anderson Silva. I just don't understand this retarded thread. You also seem to assume that he'd take those kind of fights with his new contract. How do you know that? Anderson could easily never fight GSP and Jones within ten fights. He didn't fight those guys in his last ten fights.
Kinda reaching with this thread arent ya TS? And you're way too fond of smileys, what are you a teenage girl?
if he wasn't the consensus #1 then, I have a hard time believing he will be after healing up. I say one fight or two because we don't know how scheduling will work out. If Silva fights Bisping, he will be tied up. I rather see weidman fight more (and become the sure #1) than him waiting and fighting Silva. Besides, the SF fighters will merge into UFC, and they might do a title unification before Silva fights the next contender. Need one more reason? simple: The second Silva fights a 9-0 Weidman, If he beats Weidman, the same people who now claim he is the biggest test for Anderson will turn and claim he was yet another untested fighter who was used to pad Silva's record. (and you KNOW they will say that!).
I would be interested to see if his new contact specifies fights out of MW or Superfights and if he's contractually obligated to fight GSP or Jones...that would settle all the is this gonna happen shit
Wow 10 more fights why hate? I mean if you hate the guy that just means you have an opportunity to might see the guy lose.
10 fights seems like a chit load for a guy his age, especially with all he's done in the sport all ready i'm assuming he doesen't need the money and his "legacy" is about as good as it gets. I really dont see the logic in another 10 fights from andersons point of view, I wonder what his reasoning is.
No it doesn't... GSP will still be scared shitless of Silva in 3 years.... I'm not 100% sure about Jones, only time will tell... but it seems to be a good career decision not to fight Silva.
