Hopkins used to chase his opponents down in his prime. Hopkins would have taken this in 1999-2000 like you said.
GSP vs. Serra is going to be a wash out. GSP is going to obliterate him.
EXACTLY what everybody said the first time around.
MMA's way unpredictable.
MMA has so many perceived upsets that you can't even call them upsets anymore.
Upsets are supposd to be, by definition, rare...like how they go in Boxing.
A "perceived" upset happens on virtually EVERY UFC show.
Everybody has a shot in MMA.
Now if Oscar had beat Hopkins that night, THAT would have been a monumental UPSET, but myself, I gave Oscar absolutely NO CHANCE in HELL of beating Hopkins even though Hopkins was already past-his-prime at the time. Hell, that's only why Oscar took the fight in the first place because he, like so many others, mistakenly thought the old man was finally past it and ripe to be taken. Hopkins kept pullin' surprises on them.

True that. Unlikely lightening will strike twice.
As the great Larry Merchant said, "just because you beat Tiger Woods doesn't mean you are Tiger Woods."
I don't think that it's that unlikely. It's not like GSP was doing well. He lost the fight from start to finish.
Well the last part is true... but then again, the start from finish wasn't exactly a long time.
Anyhow, Serra should be at least 3 to 1 underdog. He's just not that good.
What will Bernard say?!
Bernard will say all the fight-fans ought to have spent their hard-earned money on the Georges St. Pierre/Matt Serra UFC show instead where the fans will have got their moneys worth with a lineup of fighters who really come to fight and knock over a man...
...INSTEAD of an overly-defensive, economy-puncher in 43 year old Hopkins and a slapping puncher like Calzaghe fencing, dancing, and pawing at each other for 12 rds for multi-million dollar paydays!!!
BUUUURRRNNNN!!!
The Hopkins/Calzaghe fight SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE in 1999 or 2000 when both guys were at the peak of their powers and both guys were in their PRIMES.
Now it's anti-climatic.
Ill sig bet the first person that wants to bet against Hop. Hit me up and we'll set terms.
I'll take that bet
If Calzaghe wins, your sig has to say "Got any hot, gay porn? Please PM me" for 2 weeks.
Kinda lame, I know, but I am not very inventive today
So, give me your best shot, Cracky!
Ok. When Hop wins you'll have to replace your sig with:
your race/25/M looking for a little guy on guy action. I don't mind playing the catcher. Will travel for an opportunity to cross swords with any of my fellow sherdoggers. PM me!
he'll sing the same tune that he sang after the Taylor fight if he ends up losing. Joe C will probably win but he is not going to box circles around him.
