What was the first UFC/MMA event that got you hooked on the sport ?

For me was when Ken Shamrock beat the shit out of royce gracie for 36 minutes and some how it was a draw. Also watching penn vs machida at k-1: hero's 1 on the internet

UFC 1-2-3-4

Somewhere along the way I got bored... On and off with UFC..

Until I heard about a guy called Fedor and a thing called Pride FC.

My dad came home from a tour and showed me some vhs tapes they picked up. I think it was UFC 4 & 5. I remember he liked Oleg Taktarov. My mom was so upset with him for letting me watch them. Years later I saw the first Randy/Liddell ppv live and I was hooked. Then I heard about somebody nicknamed "The Gracie Hunter"...

Fought in tough man comps in the Midwest in the mid 80's...watched UFC 1-3 lost interest in UFC. Went to UFC 62 liked what I saw have been hooked on UFC since then...Live in Las Vegas so I get to go to about one event per year! Watch the rest On PPV...I have always been involved in TKD/Karate...Love fighting!! Love all sorts of sport fighting!

I watched Anderson Silva versus James Irvin when I was recovering from surgery on the couch. Little did I know, it was counter programming to a Fedor vs Sylvia. While I watched other fights in the past, this one started me as a fan and began my research of the sport.

I followed Ken Shamrock's career over to UFC 40... But the event that made me love the sport was Chuck/Tito 1... the Arlovski/Cabbage fight on that card got me hooked.

Urijah Faber vs Jens Pulver

Cung Le vs Frank Shamrock

UFC1 watched it live on a chipped cable box. Free ppv and free porn. That friends house was the place to be growing up lol

Did the same thing. It was UFC 3 for me. I think I was in 8th grade. Tank was fucking guys up and Royce was slaying giants.

Countdown to UFC 54, though I didnt watch the PPV, that really got me hyped for the fight.

Started watching full time by UFC 81.

Cro Cop coming from K1 to MMA before that i watched only K1 and Boxing

UFC40.JPG

Same, though I saw it after the fact. But it brought a lot of fans over and kept MMA alive in America.

For me it was renting the dvds and actually watching the bonus dvd which showed how the fighters prepare and the lead up to the fights. Seeing that was what really struck me most.

Fedor Nog I
I remember there was hype around Fedor at the time and I had seen clips of stuff before that fight but I got interested when Fedor lived up to the hype.

Though I don't think I realized until much later how impressive Fedor's handling of Nog's guard really was.

Bonnar Vs Griffin.

I am one of those main streamers that got hooked after that fight.

Funny to think the tuf'ers now are veteran fans, what really made me a fan was watching tuf with my brother and seeing little Kenny florian beat leben. Was pretty sweet to see that scrawny bastard to pull off the win with iirc elbows from the bottom?

Ultimate Japan piqued my curiosity and TUF 1 got my full attention.
