What was Scott Coker's dumbest move?

As dumb as Beltran vs Newton is, for my money, it doesn't hold a candle to the genius move that was Brett Rogers vs Alistair Overeem. Am I missing anything else?

Seriously, people thinking Bellator would be better with Coker have been proven delusional with this incredible matchmaking.

Yeah, whoa -

Matching up the 8th ranked HW with the 9th ranked HW?!?!?

That's some crazy stuff.

I don't know how anyone even gives him a job taking tickets, after a move like that!

The UFC has had just as many (if not more) ridiculous title fights. This hardly makes Scott Coker dumb. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone in the MMA community that thinks Coker is "dumb."

There's plenty to choose from, but I feel like my top 5 would all be FEDOR related.

Giving anyone a title fight after a KO loss is absurd. Please do not pretend otherwise.

At the time Brett Rogers was impressive and had knock out wins of AA and had a hell of a fight vs fedor. plus rogers was shit talking overeem so he got what he deserved!

Letting M-1 analy rape you would be tops and hard to beat.

Yea I was gonna say I guess you mean besides the co-promotion with M-1 because that would be a pretty short thread otherwise. Maybe having those 3 title fights on that tv event? They were pretty awesome match ups we all wanted to see, but it ended up sucking a lot of momentum from them because the fights ended up all sucking and going the distance. Can't really blame Coker for that I guess but maybe it woulda been smarter to not put 3 5 rounders on the one event like that, just asking for bad luck like UFC 33

Cyborg and KJ Noons Challenged for world titles too but it's not like they had anyone else.

Beltran might be the only ready person they have that actually wants to fight Newton. Like Strikeforce, I expect heavy bias towards guys that made their names elsewhere.

There was nothing wrong with the Overeem vs Rogers booking. Rogers was actually one of the best fighters on Alistair's record during that span of can crushing.

Is Newton vs. Beltran really a Coker thing or a hangover from the Bjork days?

Well, it didn't take long for Coker to become hated by *them* again.
