So as an amputee (right arm, no stump) I have access to an empty sleeve to choke or restrict my opponents for gi...there are some loop chokes using my sleeve, as well as a head/arm choke from NS that can be pulled off.

I imagine there's more? I'm interested in finding worm guard-type entries using my sleeve to tie things down. Fro example an opponent steps in to grab lapel while I'm in butterfly guard, with my sleeve maybe I can tie down the stepping leg somehow?

Having the sleeve available opens up all sorts of possibilities, let me know what you think!

I bet worm guard type stuff would work pretty well in that situation.

I doubt many other people are going to have ideas for you. You will probably be inventing a lot of new stuff along your BJJ journey.

It's awesome that you are training. Figure out some cool stuff, and then post it here. I'd love to see it.

I have no real idea, but I'd suggest you will have sleeve-wrap chokes from hell in top position. Just wind your empty sleeve around the throat with your free hand and basically garrote the guy.

Is that allowed? I mean you can't choke people with belts etc

You can choke people with your belt as long as it's not untied. That rule is misunderstood. The reason you never see legal belt chokes is because there's no practical way to choke somebody with a belt that is still being worn around the waist.

The only thing you are not allowed to do is untie your belt, wrap it around your opponent's neck, and garrote them hitman style.

Likewise you can always choke people with your sleeves. If your sleeve is empty, that shouldn't make any difference under the rules.

Do what the girl assassin does in John Wick and hold the sleeve in your mouth (lapel in her case). Then at the right moment drop in into your hand for easy access to a lapel choke!

Biting onto a gi during training is a surefire recipe for having your teeth torn out of your mouth. I highly advise against it.

Bah thanks for the reality check party pooper. If he'd pulled that off it would have made the coolest video!

I knew a guy who used to do this.

Yeah, it ended up the way you said. He doesn't do it anymore.

Ask Aaron Lapointe, an old friend of mine who is a 4th degree Black Belt under Carlson Gracie that has no use of his right arm. He frequents the BJJground forum at mixedmartialarts.com. He's also got some videos up on YouTube you can check out.
