Seems like Overeem/Cain is set up perfectly all that's in the way is Silva.. So who gets the fight if Overeem loses? Cormier probably won't fight Cain & Werdum will be locked up with Big Nog as coaches on Tuf.. Could the winner of Hunt/Struve somehow seep through into a title shot based on lack of contenders? Seems like the UFC has all it's chips into 1 basket on this one

Josh Barnett would be a solid challenge, but there is no way the UFC would risk putting him in a main event after all of the past stuff.

I could see good ol' Mir being thrown right back in the mix. Velasquez vs. Roy Nelson would probably be able to see a few PPVs as well.

I think they are gonna be surprisingly difficult with Bigfoot, since he lost to Cain in that fashion recently. He is probably a good 2-3 wins away from that big title fight.. sadly.

They will probably make Cain wait for Werdum.
    Overeem vs JDS.

My guess is that they might pull Werdum from the Nogueira fight. I can only watch Frank Mir get knocked out so many times.

He's going to fight Cain and we get to see what happens when he's not blind, and can breath...

Of course he could end up exactly the same way, but I see it playing out much differently.

What makes you think that Cain wouldn't dominate him again?

Bigfoot could pull off some upsets, but not this one.

Anway, if he does, the UFC tries to hype him as a contender (since he'd have beaten both Fedor and Overeem), but Cain gets injured before they can fight. The UFC sets up an interim title fight with JDS, and JDS wins. Then JDS gets injured, and they set up Cain vs. Overeem (which Cain wins).

Epilogue: Cain gets injured again, so the UFC sets up an interim title fight with Overeem and Butterbean. Overeem wins and the UFC can finally hype Overeem as a champion. Dana White and the UFC brass make millions and live happily ever after.

    The End

JDS rematch, Werdum, or Cormier (longshot).

This, considering how Fitch was never awarded a rematch against GSP I'm pretty sure the UFC will manage to make Big Foot win a few more fights before getting the title shot if he beats the Reem.

Heavyweight is so shallow at the top. If Bigfoot somehow manages to beat Overeem he will probably only have to win one more fight to get a rematch with Cain.

silva fights Junior, and the winner of struve/hunt (struve) gets a shot.

If Bigfoot makes the upset, Hunto-Struve winner will be feeded to the champ, meanwhile JDS obliterates Reem, becomes the linear champion and UFC HW belt is unified with Linear belt in an epic New Year rubber match.

I'd say give it to the Hunt/Struve winner yes. Both will be on decent streaks as far as HW is concerned and it will be similar to JDS's defense against Mir, not the best match up but it kills time until the better match ups can happen and gives the champ a decent challenge.

Honestly though, if Bigfoot beats Overeem, I'd give him one more match. If he wins that fight, and thats a big if, based on two hypothetical wins, they might have to let him fight for the belt. I can see them trying to promote the match based on Bigfoot being hindered too much by a fluke cut and wanting revenge. Some stupid shit like that. But seriously though, Silva could be a hell of a spoiler in this fight.
