I'd say for medical breakthrough the cure for cancer and heart disease would be massive. I'm pretty sure it will lengthen our life expectancy.

This has always been the great equalizer. Imagine mega rich people suddenly having access to some form of immortality. That would mean war, chaos, and anarchy across the world.
