UFC 156 Aldo vs Edgar 330,000
UFC 163 Aldo vs Jung 180,000
UFC 142 Aldo vs Mendes 215,000
WEC 48 Aldo vs. Faber 175,000

Aldo vs. Edgar had a MONSTER undercard and did 330K which was the previous FW record before Conor.

All of a sudden everyone on this board is the biggest Aldo fan ever, despite him pulling Mighty Mouse numbers for the majority of his career.

I've rooted for Aldo in every single fight he's had except for this one. How funny would it be if Aldo beats McGregor and then suddenly no one gives a shit again and he goes back to 180-200K buys?

While that's true, even on Sherdog during Aldo main events you don't see a ton of threads about him.

He wasn't even especially popular here. I remember there were threads about Aldo after the second Mendes fight, but they were mostly about how he punched Mendes after the bell to gain an advantage (which I didn't buy into).

Aldo doesn't have so many fans as much as Conor has haters.
 
Aldo mostly implicated a better class of fan. There's just not as many of us. And, the problem with the WWE antics that encourage neckbeards to buy PPVs is that once the hype train derails (and it will derail), the shit ends.

Pretty fucked up to devalue the career of one of the best MMA fighters to ever grace the sport, simply because a feces tornado doesn't explode from his mouth every time it opens on camera. But shit, if he wants to make money, now he knows - swaggerjack a male model and babble like a drunken pornstar on a BTS shoot.
 
I've watched all his previous fights (UFC), and I'll continue to do so. Same for Connor, as far as that goes.

Win or lose, Connor will still be a clown, but the dude is entertaining inside the cage, and THAT is where the rubber hits the road.
 
Always been a huge Aldo fan, and the only PPV of his I purchased was the second Mendes fight. Sue me.

Gonna watch this one at a buddies or a sports bar.

So what you are saying is that Aldo's best numbers were when he was fighting a well known former champ?Wow that's wierd I wonder if you had Aldo fight Lesner if we would see some good buy rates?Mendes Lamas Korean Zombie these people are unheard of by all but the true fans of mma.If it wasn't for the Fabers and Aldos being exciting and talented the UFC would have kept the WEC as is or not even bought it in the first place.Look at that # for the Faber vs Aldo fight that was the ONLY wec pay per view so that number is relatively MASSIVE!!!

He wasn't even the main event for 3 of his 7 UFC fights, but he was co-main on a card that did 800,000, mostly because of GSP. The UFC haven't really done shit to promote him until this fight with Conor. I mean Ronda broke 1,000,000 buys and she was hardly the most well-liked champ by most fans of the sport, so PPV buys don't really say much about how well-liked a fighter is. Aldo doesn't speak English so he wasn't doing all these American talk shows and press tours to pump up his fights, so he's getting almost 0 attention from casual fans.
