Some of the fights at UFC 223 are flying a little bit under the radar — which is only natural, considering how awesome both the main and co-main events for UFC 223 are —, but let us not forget: there are several great fights in this card.
So I ask you, lads: What overlooked UFC 223 fights are you most excited about?
Renato Moicano vs. Calvin Kattar is my pick, and I think this is one hell of a fight.
Moicano is a pretty good fighter. You'll probably have to take my word for it, since they are all unkown bums at first glance, but most of the fighters he beat while fighting in the Brazilian scene are actually pretty legit. His only loss was vs. Brian Ortega, who, well... look where he's at. (Besides, I'm not one to go for the "he was winning up until he lost" narrative, but... he was winning up until he lost. )
As for Kattar, he's coming off wins against Fili, and Shane Burgos, in a fight in which he looked no less than awesome.
The fact is but one, lads: UFC 223 is amazing.
What do you say?
Postscriptum. Zabit Magomedsharipov vs. Kyle Bochniak is my honourable mention, because... well, because Zabit.
Edit. My man @Frankie Baby! reminded me of Pettis vs. Chiesa. Awesome fight indeed, and I really hope Pettis can get back in the win column. Say what you wish, but I still believe in Anthony Pettis. I still do, alright? And I ain't listening!
