I just watched a clip of Fedor's training in netherlands, and it had bunch of interviews with him and others including Hoost, only interview of which was done in English, and Hoost mentioned Fedor being intelligent, and I remember a coach, famous one, I think it may have been Greg Jackson or someone else, referring to Fedor as being a greatly intelligent fighter, and I don't they were the only two professionals held in high esteem who referred to Fedor as being an intelligent fighter. In a related note perhaps, Firas Zahabi mentioned Fedor alongside Maia as two fighters who very well adapted their grappling game to MMA in his itnerview on Sherdog.

I am a fan of Fedor and think he's a GOAT, but I must admit I haven't necessarily thought of him in that way previously, but he was just very well rounded physically, technically and mentally.

He fought and dominated the best grappler Big Nog on the ground. He came up with a great game plan and beat one the most feared striker Cro Cop standing.

his timeing his entrence of strikes and his awareness grappling hes quick as hell with what he goes for. i mean youl never see him get ko'd like an aldo

His brother Alex once stated he had the worst trainers; he referred to one as "stopwatch" and the other as "towel" (I think), not to be confused with 'Towlie' (one of my many past nicknames, even if I gave it to my self)

:)

Because only a genius jumps into Werdum's guard twice in under a minute.

Because he was a master of making adjustments in every fight it seemed. His strikeforce fights weren't a good example.

A combination of a rounded skill set and high inring intelligence and calmness, he wasn't really a "gameplan" fighter but rather someone who could react to action as it happened well.

Towards the end of his run this obviously declined.
