With this weekends Heavyweight title match up coming it got me thinking, what is it about Reems style of fighting that baffles me and gets me so excited.

I love fighters like the Reem because hes economical and methodical in hes approach where everything he dose is for a reason. Watching slow starters like the Reem gathering information while fainting and using this information later in the fight to put together both offense and defense thats tailor made for the opponent thats in front of him in that given moment is just amazing IMO.
On the other hand my least favorite fighters is those who execute pre rehearsed patterns over and over again who is dependent on their corner to yell out information in order to adjust. Frankie Edgar comes to mind (no disrespect).

There's a beauty in all kind of fighting styles depending on the fighter that has it.

I even enjoy lay n' pray when it's against a fighter I dislike.

When you're really supporting a fighter or rooting against another fighter it's fun watching a lay n' pray opponent and you're thinking "yes, win that round! keep him pinned!"

Would have loved it if DC lay n' prayed Jon Jones.

Hamster Style. All others rest in peace.

its really not fun at all if you only like one.

I'm a sucker for Muay Thai fighters. Pedro Rizzo was my favorite fighter for years.

I would enjoy Conor vs Khabib

I'm not saying i like point fighters but i'm a huge Frankie and Dom fan, also i prefer muay thai based fighters.

Gotta love wushu! Lakay MMA ftw! If only they'd have better wrestling lol

i don't care about the specific style as long as they actually try to finish the fight.

Pretty much this.

A fast game is a good game, you know?

I like to see a fight where both fighters take risks to try to win. Makes it an exciting fight every time.

Technical brawlers are a guilty pleasure but as long as guys are constantly working and looking to finish I don't mind.

Also love seeing fighters submit guys from their back

check my sig. clean and unorthodox strikers

I thought I felt that way until I saw Maia. The "let's see if he can wrap himself around this guy without getting KO'd" game just isn't fun to me, sorry.

I'm sure I'll come around when he's the champ and everyone's wondering which contender will be the first to take him out. Maybe it'll be interesting then. But when he's just a fight on the main card I'm not pumped up to see it. I don't see myself ever getting pumped up to see it.

Thai fighters are my favorite.

I think everyone loves a graceful striker.

It's a thing of beauty.

i don't mind guys trying to grapple and submit guys, but he bores the hell out of me just because of the fact that it's the same thing every fight.

I agree. I even like GSP because, like you said, at least it wasn't the same thing each fight. Sometimes he barely grappled, sometimes that's all he did, other times he did both. He wasn't super exciting in any area but at least he brought a real MMA game to the table.

Maia just feels like an MMA loophole. Similar to Toquinho with his leglock only more complete and consistent. I get that he needed to understand MMA very well to make his strategy work, but I'd just much rather see guys who use the whole toolset, or if you're going to be one-dimensional, for fuck's sake: kickbox.
