Well to be fair his title shots at MW had a legitimate basis, in particular the first one.

But it's not dirt that Sonnen has, it's the gift of gab and intelligence. He knows how to promote himself, and how to promote a fight. He goes out there and says outrageous stuff and people pay attention. Whether you love him, or you hate him, it's very hard to ignore him.

I'm sure that Chael works very hard on his schtick and what to say, just like any great communicator and entertainer. I would bet that every spare minute, where he isn't training for a fight, is devoted to coming up with responses and clever lines and practicing it to perfection.

And guess what, the media, who push this stuff out there, as well as Zuffa love that kind of thing. They always want attention grabbing stuff to keep peoples interest. Chael gives it to them.
