Social What is your morning looking like?

Merchant Mariner, a branch of the Coast Guard but not military. I just got back on the ship from 6 weeks vacation! The season ends Jan 15 +/- so i'll be here every day until end of January. When the season ends i will have worked around 210 days for the year/season and before i got my last vacation i sailed a little over 4 months straight... that's when a guy needs a vacaroo!
Question for you, do you have land sickness? Or do you just get used to it after a while. How exciting that you’re doing that for so long!

Land sickness like sea sickness but on land? no. When i'm out here i want to be anywhere else tho... we get used to the lifestyle but it's still tough. I tend to handle the isolation well, it suits me though one could lose their mind if they weren't mentally strong out here. Gatta stay positive!

The longest I've ever done was a week on a cruise, but it took me a fortnight to get used to walking on land. Sometimes I had to grab the table where I was sat because it felt like it was all topsy turvy and I was on the sea.
You're very brave!! Especially with the isolation.

Sealegs! Got over that the first year...

We're still closed technically, but i went in around 0800 to do a Commanding Generals Inspection
Then had a Skillbridge applicant, and someone try to train as Microsoft Office Specialist

So I was in the office almost all day

I haven't ever got weird during ferry crossings and I was fine on the cruise. Funny though, husband was fine when we were on land at a restaurant but he had the same moment of grabbing the table because he had a wobble exactly the same time I did.

What an interesting job you have :)

I had to Google what RPG was. Tell me about 3DS please? Bear in mind I am useless at any game other than fighting games. But I do get flippin bored at work.
Start with this video (timestamped), as there are many versions of the 3DS that you can pick up. Feel free to ask any questions.

What makes it great for casual users like yourself, is the online store which has tons of older games from different Nintendo systems called "Virtual console".

You can always buy games on your phone too, but control generally sucks. The 3DS has dedicated controls. Worst is that while most phone games are "Free" with loads of micro transactions, they are essentially gambling tactics.

Morning Julia,
This mornin of the 24th wasn’t too hot & no rain for a change this month.
Did the morning run: a 5 miler & some change. Had a few zoom meetings today and ran some errands.

Now boozin with some Stolis and lemon water, happy that the Ayala Land Property Management Mafia Corp finally turned this section of street lights on finally tonight. (Billion dollar family Corp owns everything here and straight gets away with robbery in many different jars).

I have been in pitch black darkness for over a month since moving in, which is creepy and getting home in total darkness was treacherous arcade game every night driving near half a mile without lights at all on woodsy way back home.

So atleast I got lights this lonesome eve.
Gonna zoom later tonight with folks & siblings;

Gal will be here 2mara and a few cousins coming over tomorrow night dinner/drinks & hang so that’ll be nice.

Drank a beer and now im drinking my morning yerba mate. Anyway what you guys are doing ( its hot as fuk in here )View attachment 820323

I’ve only drank a beer in the morning once, it was during one of the worst hangovers of my life, I was probably 16 and I got hamm’d at my fathers wedding.

The next morning he threw me a cold one knowing my state, I took it as a challenge and not wanting to look weak in front of my father I pounded it. I’ll never look at an MGD the same way again.

Just cleaned the range and immediate chimney area in preparation for Santa's visit to the kids tonight..... Gotta keep selling the dream ;)

Now I am about to crawl into the attic space of our freshly converted garage (changed to laundry room/bathroom) to install some insulation.

Taking advantage of the downtime in my regular work to get these jobs down around the house.

How anyone could be bored is beyond me.

I’m a morning person. Got up at 6, sip of green tea, then ran 3 miles easy pace. Came home sent work emails. Ran to market for some charcuterie board goodies. Then went to gym, lifted for 45. Then flowers for my wife. Home showered work emails, done for day. I’ll start prepping food at 2 or so. Modified 7 fishes.....shrimp parm, clams, calamari, stuffed mushrooms, flatbread pizzas, wings.

I wake up and eat something and go to the work, that's how I live, nothing special

Woke up at 09:30, ate a massive Christmas dinner that wiped me out and have been watching X-files in bed with the partner ever since.

Working Christmas Day and Boxing Day, so pulled Christmas Day ahead a day...

Rolled out of bed around 9:45. Turned on computer to check email, helped 1 person remotely, and don't plan on doing any more work for the day (plus it's a half day).

As far as i'm concerned, i killed it running the virtual all staff this year (first year IT has been involved with this event). So i'm good in regards to work until 2021.

I’m in a clinic waiting to get tested for COVID :(
