For me, i think he'll drive himself to do well and honestly think he will get a few wins 😃
He's an awesome douche bag.
I think he's gonna look slow and awkward if he finally fights for UFC.
Nothing against the guy, good on him for chasing the dream.
That being said, the UFC signed an amateur who has had multiple concussions in the past, over his mid-thirties, and has a white belt in BJJ. Didn't even train it aside from a hobbyist perspective. Unless the UFC signs a can, he will probably lose to everyone in his division.
I think he'll be good for the UFC, in the short term.
He'll fight nobodies, of similar recorded experience, probably win most of his fights, and quit once he's proven to himself that he accomplished what he set out to do.
Afterward, he'll probably get a sweet gig doing color-commentary.
“Is anyone not hammered in here right now? Is anybody not drinking?”
He's gonna be disappointed since Bud Light is a big sponsor of the UFC.
Dude's got nothing to prove.
He gets to train with Askren and Pettis.
He will get to test that training against some fighter ranked in the 20s (?).
Sounds like an opportunity anyone would want.
Guessing the result will be somewhere between "ok" and "got worked."
I heard his name first 1 month ago and I was thinking he is a rapper(because of the name)but no doubt to get in the cage after 38 years old you need some balls and its obvious the guy has it,I hope he brings some violance for the fans
It's hard to deny that it's good for business. However, I have no interest in it from a competitive angle. I'll watch him get his ass kicked, but I guarantee it will be amongst the least interesting fights for me on whatever card it ends up on.
That he's gonna put butts in seats and move the needle
For him to want to have a go you can't do it, but from the ufc point of view they've alreay said they will sign some complete cans for him to fight, which is pretty embarrassing following their criticism of PRIDE for freakshow fights
I've seen him train. He is good. If I had a crystal ball I would say he breaks top five within 2 years.
I don't really care. good for him for trying out, but i don't care what happens.
If he turns out to be an awesome fighter with a great skill set, then i'll enjoy watching him. If not I'll fast forward as quick as I did Shawn Jordans last fight.
Why did he say those words when Punk was doing the Q&A?
As a fan of the guy, I don't want to see him get KTFO. So I don't think I'll like it.
I think he should have to fight whoever the fans vote for him to fight, twice per month
not sure yet
Anik was basically the MC. Kept things running smoothly, watches time, etc.
The drunks were fucking up the flow of the Q&A, and pissed off Anik.
I've never understood all that CM Punk hate, or why it's such a hotly discussed thing. I'm not even a fan of his, I'm rather indifferent until I see what he brings, but I just don't get why he in particular catches so much flak.
He wants to fight in the UFC? Great. Let him step into the octagon and show what he can do. If he fails, he fails. At least he stepped up and tried. If he succeeds. Cool. I'll never complain about more good competition.
Other pro-wrestlers have transitioned to MMA and have done fairly well before. So, it's not like this is unprecedented either.
What's the big deal? He's just another guy debuting in the UFC. Happens all the time. Some do well. Some don't.
