What is WME doing with new women's division??

The UFC has made a women's FW division. The two people fighting are Holly Holm (who has lost 2 straight) and Germaine de Randamie (who was finished easily in the 1st rd by Nunes).


This would be equivalent to the UFC making a Super HW division and letting Roy Nelson and Overeem fight for the title.

What are they thinking? The one person who is supposed to rule this division just popped for dick pills.

There may be a back up strategy though...If Ronda beats Nunes she can move up in weight and fight for the other title. I guess they are hoping she can do the whole Conor thing and be a 2 weight world champ.

What are your thoughts? Good idea? Bad? Will they be able to make some money off of this.

As of right now, it kind of looks like the UFC just created a new division so they could have a main event at UFC 208.

Get rid of it. W145 was always a shit show division with barely any talent. Megan Anderson was the only good FWF the UFC could sign since the #2,3 and 4 are already in Bellator. Get rid of Cyborg she is just a giant hassle, let her go to Bellator where she can fight on Indian reservations where they won't give a fuck what she does. Scrap W145 and get W125

It was really a fail-proof if you think about: either legitimize Cyborg and keep drawing with her, or use it as a tool to prop-up Ronda as a plan-B.

It's very clearly being used as a way to have Ronda fight for another title after she loses her 2nd 135 fight in a row.

The Division makes 0 sense. There's a 20Ibs gap between the Women's 135Ibs and Women's 115Ibs Division. What they should have done was introduce 125 in order to close the gap and let those who want to move down/up an easier chance. That way we won't see people half dead at weigh-ins like Letourneau and Kish. If they wanted a title fight for 208 so badly then they should have introduced the 125 Div and have the title fight headline. Plus, 125 has a much deeper talent pool than 145, they could've brought in Agnieszka Niedzwiedz and some others instead of completely wiping out a weight class from Invicta.

I guess they went with 145 because Holm could easily make that weight and they'd have a title fight with a "Star" in it, thus bringing in more money and potentially set up the Holm/Rousey rematch if both of them win their fights.

how about 120 and 140? i just really hate 3 women divisions. Like, where are all these women outside the UFC chomping at the bits to get in, only they can't b/c there aren't enough divisions. Making a 125 lb div will just water down whatever talent the UFC already has and will devalue each title a little
