What is the training regimen that olympic sprinters use?

That would be a great idea if you were one. A training regimen for an olympic sprinter is designed for someone already posting olympic sprinting times.

Are you running as fast as an olympic sprinter? If your not then training like one isn't going to turn you into one.

You don't think their training changed over time as their progress developed?

You don't think their regimen changes within the year and throughout the year?

Are you familiar with the concept of periodization?

What are your current sprinting times?

What are your goals?

My point is that your not going to reap the benefits of training like one unless your at their level. Your clearly not at their level.

Have you considered looking on the internet. I am sure they have 100/200 programs that will help you improve your times.

i am by no means an expert, but i think they do work on explosive strength, strength endurance and anaerobic conditioning mostly.

someone correct me if im wrong

You're not an Olympic sprinter, not near the level. Why would you possibly think that you can train like one?

I read an artivle on T-nation by the guy who trains one of the guys in this years Olympic 100m final. One of the things I do remember him talking about is his guy doing stiff leg deads with around 400lbs, which I thought impressive for a 180lbs sprinter.

justing gatlin used to squat 375 for reps of 10. i guess lots of box jumps as well

No, you shouldn't, at least not at that level. That's just like all the genius fat-boys who are 50 lbs overweight and completely out of shape buying a body-building magazine and thinking if they jump into one of the top competitors' lifting routines they'll magically be transformed into a body builder. You have to train right for your level.

my goal would be to run faster of course, but looking like one wouldn't hurt either. In high school this kid ran the 100m in like 10.12 i don't see how i couldn't do it too if i train hard and right.

how old are you buddy? cuz if ur no longer a teenager and ur running in the 13s for the 100 and 28 for the 200...u should probly take up another sport..no offense

Seems simple. The fact is that you aren't an "Olympic level" sprinter and odds are, you won't be.

What you can do is this:
Speed drills
Sprints
Oly's
Plyo's (eventually)
And don't forget to keep day-dreaming.

You also need to take into consideration that Olympic sprinters are on more junk than you can even comprehend. There was an article with the BALCO guy in which he talks about how HGH changes the shape of your jaw which leads to so many present day sprinters wearing braces. He also talks about steroid periodization throughout the year and EPO cycles in which you draw blood at the peak of the cycle and then inject it after the blood test but before the race.
