What is the most successful/highest percentage sub?

Is there statistics floating around for this?

    Based on MMA, BJJ, ADCC?

Does high ranked BJJ guys tap to more basic stuff then newbies or more spectacular stuff?

Points or sub? more subs the lwoer the comp level?

note, he didn't say the sub that we see the most often. we see a lot of rear chokes attempted but id go so far as to say that its a very low percentage attack as many guys cant finish it.

i would wager to say that when triangles are put on, they are finished the most often.

Actually a lot of high level competitions a lot of basic subs are used. It's just who is the most technical with their application. In ACC 2005, Roger Gracie wn by all subs and none of them were unorthodox. Yes high ranked guys tend to tap to morebasic subs. Smeone had a lit of the most successful subs in MMA on here a while bac. I'll try and dig it up. I believe the RNC, armbar, guillotine, and triangle were the to 4 for MMA.

You could put up a statistic that could tell you the percentages of subs used, but there's so many variables that come into play. I thnk it's hard to say what the most common would be.

My vote would be Rickson by Armbar. ;)

I would cosign with this. The RNC is actually pretty tough to nail.

if you sink in a RNC and someone gets out of it, then it's on you, you should be able to finish a rnc

Yeah if you get a RNC locked in and the guy gets out of it then that's your fault. But an experienced guy will be able to fend of your attempts to set it up and lock it in much more than get out of a triangle I would think.

When I was coaching fighters, and before, I used to keep count of the submissions that were in the cage events. I found that the Guillotine choke was the most common of the submissions. I especially coached the fighters, therefore, on counters and escapes from the guillotine. Eventually, I had produced a 90 min seminar on escapes from the guillotine. Still, there are many pros that have poor counters to the guillotine.

preferably behind you, with both hooks sunk in
Most are won by points, first time i watched a tournament, nobody got subbed in the 8 man beginners bracket

Highest percentage sub would definitely be the RNC. Sure, everyone knows that it's going to come once the match hits rear mount, but enough people know how to set it up properly for it to be so popular
