Just watched RDA vs Jason High from June 2014 and then RDA vs Benson Henderson from August 2014 and it's crazy how much he improved in two months.

He struggled against Jason High, he looked sloppy and it was fairly even before he landed a big shot then two months later against Bendo he came out like a bat out of hell, he was fast, he was putting on tonnes of pressure while being technically and defensively sound and he became the only person to knock Bendo out and he did it in like 3 minutes.

What are some other examples of a fighter making huge leaps in just one fight?

Rousey's standup improved a lot from the Holly Holm fight to the Amanda Nunes fight.

TJ comes to mind

Werdum. He went from a BJJ guy to a BJJ that can fuck you up on the feet too.

Cejudo between Joey B and Reis
Stand-up looked so much more fluid

I know it's not from one fight to the next more like years a part , but when Robbie Lawler returned to the ufc , holy shit

Lawler from the Larkin to Kos fight

disagree. everybody was simply sleeping on tj. I bet on him to beat barao

You very well might have but tj’s performance in the first barao fight was undoubtedly leaps and bounds better than any of his previous fights

I’m going to be called a Conor fanboy for this, but he looked really good against Alvarez. His movement and speed in/out was really good, I just thought he looked levels above.

Weidman in between the first and second Silva fight improved his hands a lot.

Cejudo hands improved drastically in a short period of time.

TJ looks like a vastly improved fighter each time out, although I’m sure he is doping.

Between Ferguson's TUF stint and then fighting in the finale. I've never seen a fighter improve so much in that amount of time. Really took me by surprise.

Jones from OSP to Cormier 2

Tj. Whoever he fought pre Barao, to fighting Barao

Not a fan but dillashaw went from a tuf guy to champ in the modern era. I doubt that happens again. More then one fight but still

I got blasted when I said Frankie Edgar' s hands were getting good. Frankie made huge strides in his early days.

Arlovski always comes to mind for me, early on in his UFC career(Rizzo/Ricco for example) he still looked pretty mechanical, especially his boxing which was rather sloppy and upright.

Around the first Sylvia fight though he suddenly became MUCH slicker, maybe disguised by not having a big match for awhile before that?

Crocop's takedown defence seemed to evolve quickly as well, granted Igor didn't test it but suddenly he went from being quite easy for most opponents to get down to impossible for someone like Herring to.

Jake Matthews looked like a monster against The Leech and like a bum with no future whatsoever against Velickovic.
