    1. He genuinely respects and likes Cowboy.
    2. He doesn't want Cowboy to bring up his legal issues as trash talk
    3. He was humbled by Khabib

    thoughts?

I think mostly 1, but also it's hard to trash talk much when you're on a bad skid. Conor probably knows he needs a few good wins before his talk has any real meat behind it.

He may be growing a bit tired of the antics and just wants to focus on fighting a bit more as well.

He didn't wanted Cowboy to turn on him and took the fight seriously and ratting him and Dana out in the process for paying Cowboy to took a dive.

    This shit again?!!

Why not just take him for his word and move on?

He said each situation is different, doesn't mean he's going to be this way for every opponent.

All of the above I suppose. He may have also realized that the masses love to see a man who has built up such a reputation for arrogance fall as far as possible.

I think he was mostly humbled. I think it affected his whole approach to fights. Repeatedly getting punched in the face with Khabib yelling "let's talk now" probably made him realize that talking too much can backfire and make you look like a jackass.

Maybe a bit of this too lol.

Yup, purely business. He's pretty smart about his image and knows that while the arrogant shit talking regarding fighting, KOs and wins was perfect when he was winning, with him losing and all the out of the cage bad press, it's time to play the good guy for a while. If his legal issues clean up and he continues to win a couple more, I think he will revert back to the arrogant shit talker because that will sell even better.

Lot of bad press from punching an old man and allegations of sexual assault. Doesn't want to add to that.

He was probably a Cowboy fan when he was a young teen. That kind of thing doesn't leave you.

He knew he was a piece of this this year and would look like a moron trash talking, when he did a bunch of bad things. I'm sure the trash talk will be back soon enough.
