I have several friends living in Arizona who are married to US citizens, two are married to white people and the other who is married to a Mexican American is living in a mining town.

The ones married to Americans are progressive the one in the mining town is conservative, generally apolitical but they dont like divisive politics.

The ones married to Americans gave birth to white kids with American last name (they are light skinned Mexican). Arizona isnt turning into California anytime soon and i dont think Biden would had beat a semi-decent republican candidate like Romney.

Hopefully the Republican party purges Trumpers and the likes of McConnell but i doubt it.

I believe 4 years wasn't enough but Trump should have tried campaigning or adjusting his message for California/Mexicans.

Trump did better with Latinos this time around his weird alliance with AMLO which has Mexican-Americans enthralled and his rethoric against the dictatorships of Venezuela and Cuba, along with his populist persona (which lets face it, Latinos LOVE populist leaders like Bolsonaro or AMLO) helped him overall... Except in Arizona.

And you're right... he ended up losing this election due to his disparaging remarks about him.

All it would have took was for Trump to show some grace when passed away. Explain that the debates and political battles were one thing, but that he respected McCain as a person and his military history.
