Hey everyone! It's been a busy summer. Haven't been around in a while, but was able to carve out some time to visit the Rival headquarters when in Montreal. I knew it was the warehouse address, but sort of assumed there might be some sort of storefront. Apparently that's in the works but hasn't been built yet.

I got there and there was a sign with hours but that also said "temporarily closed", directing you to a side door. The side door had the same sign on it, so I wasn't sure if it was open or not. Called the number on the sign and a very friendly person answered, saying they were indeed open and just to ring the doorbell on the side if I was there and she would let me in.

Once I came in, she did explain they just moved to that particular location recently. Within the last two years I think, and that they were still planning more of a retail setting. There was a large printout of all their gear on a table, with the rest of the warehouse further in. Luckily I already knew what I wanted to try out.

It would have been nice to see all the stuff actually on display and be able to browse and pick up and try on, but the two staff people were still very friendly and accommodating. I asked to see both versions of the RFX Guerrero bag gloves. The softer SFF and the stiffer HDEs in a couple of colors. I'll provide more of what I got in a later post, but so far I like the feel of them as a purpose built pair of 10oz bag gloves that actually fits large hands well. Anyway, picked up a pair and went on my way.

So that's a long winded way to ask: are any really good physical stores out there? Like a level above, that would make a good stop-in location if you happened to be in that part of the world? I get the impression the Superare shop in New York might be one of those, even if a bit small. But there has to be something else in the US, not to mention Mexico, Japan, or Europe.

The U.S. Winning store is certainly a level away in some direction.
It's worth visiting just to chat boxing and photography with the crazy old guy there (if he's still around).

I'd probably also add the Golomb factory in PA. I have no idea if they'd let you in, but it'd be cool to see.

OTM fight shop if being around "bros" is something you think is cool

On brick and mortar stores, Isami Shinjuku will always have a special place in my heart. Not with the selection or anything though there were some interesting items they had the few times I visited

Nice. I swear I must've ordered from you before. Ages and ages ago.
