    maybe in his sparring but in karate lots of schools do full contact with little kids putting on mitts and head gear. noone gets hurt but its good experience. I did it myself. do you have an interview where he says this?

    Discipline. Depending on the dojo you go to sometimes you wonder if they are aver going to actually teach you karate at all. As I kid I hated it because I spent about 3 months just doing the horse stance, then breathing, then blocking and so on.
