say you are Japanese but grew up in another country and never learned your parents language. You only speak russian or spanish or whatever. If someone tried talking to you, you couldn't speak back to them. Do you think they would figure you are a tourists who doesn't speak the language, or just an asshole who ignores people?

I was raised in Germany for 18 years, with a German mum, and I can't speak German. People just consider me a dumbass

I grew up around all minorities and cannot speak Ebonics(well a little), nor Spanish. Does that count?

I've been to Taipei with someone in that situation. When you tell them you only speak English, they look stunned for a second.

Fortunately, there are hotels and cabs in most east Asian countries that cater to English speakers.

Th3n you ain't japanese if you can't speak it

What are you imagining here? That because you don't know a language you must ignore people and roll your eyes when they talk to you?

You probably say "i don't speak Japanese" in whatever language and they figure it out.

Sad. I spent most of my life away from the old countries and I'm fluent in both and conversational in local dialects.

Pretty much a tard. I was taking a korean language classes for a semester abroad, and the nights where I would kind of wander around on my own and hail a taxi, I was pretty much getting shit from cabby's.
