First, calm the fuck down!

There's a reason for my provocative title. I obviously don't want Stipe to die.

I just think it's shameful that a fighter who could possibly be the next HW champion of the biggest and most important organization in the Fastest Growing Sport in the World has to have a day job. And not just any day job but a dangerous one.

If he wins the HW title, you think he'll be paid like a real professional athlete going forward? Or would he have to hold on to his steady government job which could lead to his death?

Not a good look for the UFC

this is such a dumb thread.

if he dies, then it would be tragic. U already know the answer to this

lock this garbage

maybe he likes being a firefighter? It's meaningful work.

Its Stipes choice to be a firefighter.
Lytle was also a fire fighter during his career in the UFC.

Its nice that you care about UFC and what will happen if their HW champ dies in a fire...

Titles have been vacated before. Wasteland this shit.

Stipe is a part-time firefighter near his Cleveland home.
"Of course, fighting's first. That's what I do, that's what pays my bills, you know," he said.

"They are both intense situations ... you've got to be calm, cool, and collected with the whole situation ... but it's been six, seven years, now [working as a firefighter], and I love every day I come in to work ... Saving people, helping people, is just something I always wanted to do.

"When I become champion, you know, I'll never stop being a firefighter."

One would imagine that balancing two high-risk careers, simultaneously, would be a burden on both a man's schedule as well as his adrenal glands. Miocic, however, downplays any difficulty he may have being both a professional fighter and firefighter.

"Things have changed a bit [since becoming a UFC contender], but my scheduled works pretty well for me," he tells us.

So there you have it from Stipe him self.

He probably does...all things considering. One of those things being crappy fighter pay.

But If he was paid like a real professional athlete, I doubt he would find much meaning in putting out fires.

You assume that he HAS to have a day job when he's said many times that even if he becomes champion he'll still work as a firefighter.

Stop trying to use Stipe to passive-aggressively bash fighter pay, he's said multiple times nothing will make him quit his job as a firefighter.

-Stipe.

The real Q is what if he dies then wins the title ?

You think he's working as a part time fire fighter for the money? LMFAO
