So DC vs Jones II is very likely to be on UFC 200. If they sign to fight that means that jones would be back in training camp in the next 2 weeks right after he just had a long training camp and fight. He said he will be back in the gym this wednesday anyway that seems like overtraining to be honest he hasnt even had time to recover at all. He runs the risk of injury or just tiring himself out .

It's always possible, but the guy is years into his UFC career has 8 title defenses, just won the interim (bs title, but there it is) belt and I'll trust that he knows what he's doing.

I would expect Jones to step up for the match against DC and repeat his win and add another rung to his ladder to GOATness.

could look more like:
-go-to-the-gym-to-stay-in-shape (lift weights, bag work, roll around)
-followed by a shorter 4 week actual camp for DC

regardless of a UFC 200 or not, Jones will be back in the gym "Wednesday" is kind of what I mean.

I sortve wonder the same thing, since it's only a couple months away.

But I imagine at this level he knows his body pretty well, and he probably has the best coaches and nutritionists to maximize his potential for the fast turn around. Also, I imagine he's pretty motivated and driven right now since he was out for so long.

Overtrain ? I doubt it. You can go at the gym every day of the week and if you go lazy you'll never overtrain.
H eis a pro, he knows his shit and will not injure himself because of that I mean "fatigue broken bone"

As long as he has an outlet to relax(coke, pot, drive, women, etc) i dont think overtraning will be a problem.

More interesting... what if he under-trains?

TS don't know bout exercisin
Actually i do. When a fighter trains too much they can peak before the fight happens and then be tired once its fight time as a result of not enough recovery time. It can make you gas easier and also alot slower . Even when you workout and you do it for weeks without rest days after a while you will feel burned out and cant even do easy reps anymore. trust me i know deez tings

he did
greg jackson said the heavy lifting made him gas vs osp

You're saying a fighter doing this for almost a decade under one of the biggest coaches in MMA and access to supplement that give him testosterone levels of 49ng/dl on fighti night will not have the foresight to avoid overtraining?

It can happen to anyone. Hes going to go into a training camp probably right after a fight with no rest or recovery. He could be completely fine or he might overtrain.
