Masks are pushed strongly mainly because there a very low effort counter to the virus but I'd agree that alone they arent close to the biggest factor in controlling it.

The main risk of UFC events is likely people traveling around for them but socially I think its been desided that high level sport is better to allow to carry on, partly you could argue due to business interests I spose but it has a positive effect on peoples mental health and the numbers involved are pretty tiny.

I think it's safer if everyone wearing a mask and be extra-cautious especially if you are in a public place with strangers that you don't know their past exposure and travel history.

A little exception if you are working in the media / showing up on air in television, or if you are currently eating at the restaurant (obviously lol).

Wearing a mask literally cost nothing, just wait a while until your country is safe, like China and Taiwan at the moment.
