What happens if they make an interim title fight and Conor's opponent misses weight?

I think in a real championship fight if the champ misses weight then it doesn't count as a title fight. If the challenger misses weight then obviously he can't become the champ.

This is a possibility since it seems like they're going to make an interim title fight between Conor and Nate who missed weight by 4 pounds in the past.

So I guess it no longer becomes an interim title fight if either guy misses weight?

YUP, imagine the sweet tears and popcorn if Conor's opponent misses weight and Conor still gets handed the interim belt. Oh I'm touching myself tonight.

No he doesn't. Sonnen didn't get Filho's belt when he won.

"If Lawler would've won, he would've been champion," White explained. "If Hendricks won, the title still would've been vacant. Obviously not the best scenario to be going into tomorrow, but it is what it is."

What in the world makes anyone think this will be for an interim belt? Speculation by Sherdog idiots?

Conor's either fighting for the interim title or he's the co-main next to Holly.

    It's common sense.

It's up to the promotion, WEC decided it was a non-title fight.

The Lawler/Hendricks example just proves my point. Why would you disagree with me and then post something backing up what I said?
The belt was vacant when they first fought. If Lawler won, he'd win the belt. If Hendricks (missed weight and) won, then he would not have won the belt.

If someone holds the belt and misses weight, its a non title fight. If they are fighting for a vacant belt (ex an interim belt), then only the person who missed cannot win it.

So Conor would be the champion in this interim title fight? :D

He also said the Texas commission is weird and that's what would have happened in Texas so it's not not up to them.

I, I don't get what you mean. Either way, in a fight like this for an interim belt, person who makes weight gets it.

Jesus wept. You made the statement that in an interim belt fight, it's a non-belt if one party doesn't make weight.

How about you provide source for that?

I said that for a title fight. There's no instance I can remember of it happening in an interim title fight.

You're the one that claims Conor will become interim champion even if his opponent misses weight.

Oh I see where your source is now.

I was under the impression that if a champion misses weight he basically losses the title "on the scale" and its only a title fight for the challenger.

Ha, my Irishness has nothing to do with it.

Fair enough, I was wrong regarding you saying it for an interim belt.

Either way, I would imagine it's the same as a vacant belt (Lawler/Hendricks) seeing as an interim belt is a vacant belt as well.
