I used to visit this site regularly as it was a great source for kickboxing news. However, the last year they hardly report about kickboxing events other than the ones of Glory.

Since they changed the site I can't even find out how to get to page 2 or anything other than the first 4 or 5 news stories. I only go there about once maybe twice a month because they quit reporting and now you can not find anything. I do not know what they did but the new site is atrocious and everything runs together into a blob of letters and tiny pictures

Pretty sure it's just Dave doing everything now. Probably feeling discouraged and has other shit going on.

Rian left at some point, seemingly more into MMA nowadays if his twitter feed is anything to go by. :D

Nobody really replaced him as a regular writer.

I pretty much get all my kickfighting information from warman's podcast these days.
I miss good liverkick though, I really hope they can staff up and get back on track.

And yeah the new site has some issues but should be much better than the old mess if they work on it a little.

Seems pretty straight forward to me. I've never been there before but I found out how to get to all the kickboxing news within the first 2 minutes:

Dat join date vs post ratio.

Yeah, holy what. Been around for ages, sniping only a few posts here and there. (Probably what most white belts should be doing, rather than people that come in and in about 3 months steamroll 5 thousand postings like FallonFoxGOAT and other weirdos).

Steven's podcasts are great, but too far between.

Best place to keep up with the sport is right the fuck here!

I can see the sections but last time i went there were maybe 6 articles with nothing from before the new site was up. it might have changed now thou. I was talking about the main page but obviously you did not understand that

Maybe someone from Sherdog could volunteer their services, my nominations would be (in no paricular order);
Brocktirement
Spong aka rudelb.

the homepage alone scrolls down endlessly with about thirty news items so whoever said they cant find the news past the first four or five posts must be absolutely retarded

likewise that site overhaul is fucking superb, for dave walsh to cough that up out of his own pocket for a site which is largely a labor of love is outstanding. It looks great. I think it brings LK right up into the modern era, i really like it

it was a shame Rian left LK to pursue other projects, DW can only do so much on his own, dude works hard so nobody has any cause at all to be knocking his effort or workrate.

the fact that the kickboxing news pages are dominated by Glory news is probably due to the fact that organization has consistent output, in the english language, actually makes the effort to reach out to media, produces lots of news, is the UFC of kickboxing and has an actual PR team which knows what it is doing.

as anyone who tried to cover k-1 in its heyday will know, that kind of thing was a pipedream back then. You could try your hand at translating japanese web pages and emails and you could look forward to the occasional giant essay in your inbox from Monty Di Pietro, who used to write up the fights for them. I still dont know what his actual role was beyond inboxing people with a fight report.

well for safari on a mac there is no endless scrolling. Just one page with 5 news stories and a couple of fight results at the bottom that keep changing. I do not agree on them being pro glory. It is just glory has a event every month so there is always something going on. I think Dave gives the new k1 way too much freedom to spew their propaganda because those guys answer his phone calls. He always has there excuse for everything 3 weeks after everyone starts bitching he comes around with another fluff piece and bullshit story. Same thing I believe you did back with fighters! only magazine

Rian aka Viva Italia was a good reporter on there site. Liverkick should promote more Muay Thai and other Kickboxing promotions with major stars on the bill. For instance Buakaw, Kem and Saenchai fought this weekend and there was no buzz about the fight. I wish I wasn't so busy with my buisness or I'd start doing the monthly Kickfighting schedule again.

So what happened to Rian Scalia?

He abruptly stopped posting here, stopped going on Steven Wright's kickboxing show, and at the same time quit doing stuff for liverkick.
