Just wondering if anyone has any info on what happened to MFS? Was the most domiant camp in America and now it seems to be totally dead, with the old guys at the H.I.T Squad. I also hope Pat is still training people as his fighters always looked sharp.

1) Hughes and the rest left

2) Pat couldn't build another good fighter

3) He sold the gym

about the same time MFS took two major hits. Hughes left and the IFL happened and failed miserably. I think it took a lot of wind out of MFS, which was backing the IFL heavily. It may have done a lot of financial damage to Pat, too.

A lot of gyms fade into obscurity after the core group of top guys leave. Think about all the ones you used to hear about all the time.

Jeremy Horn leaving hurt a lot as well. He was a very well respected trainer. Also, with other camps popping-up they didn't get the blue chip prospects like they used to. Guys like Maynard & Fitch - Big 10 wrestlers originally from the midwest - went elsewhere instead of MFS.

When Hughes left he took a couple guys with him like Robbie Lawler. Horn left, great trainer. Pat became more committed to commentating and working with Strikeforce and was apparently not at the gym much anymore either.

All of the guys branched out, that tends to happen a lot. Horn and hughes leaving were huge blows to MFS. Pat is still an amazing trainer.
