I feel like this was the highest level Taekwondo Practitioner that we have seen in MMA...I was pretty excited to see this guy come into the game.....but this guy retired...anyone know why?

i am sure he has his reasons to retire, nobody cares.

he will be debuting in first wmma match vs fallus fox later this year.

Most likely didn't see much of a future in MMA based on his UFC performances and decided to find a career that will probably pay him better.

I remember him getting held down and beat up pretty bad by somebody. Showed a lot of heart and never stopped trying to win. But he looked like he realized he was never gonna be committed enough to grappling to make a real run.

Edit: I think it was Cowboy Oliveira.

Dude missed weight at LW so he then fought at WW which he seemed a bit undersized for. Prob hated that cut to lightweight and realized he wouldn’t be able to compete with the UFC welterweights, idk just conjecture really.

I first became aware of him when he debuted with Alan Jouban. I thought those two might become good.

You mean this guy?

I just hope he shows up cause I know his momma got tickets.

The last time I saw him he got whooped by Kevin Lee. I dont know, didnt look promising or high level at all to me.

there is a reason that there are a lot of gay female fighters and not a lot of gay male fighters.

don't get me wrong- i love me some homos and think that moontasri was fun to watch, amazingly talented and certainly tough...i also think he should have gotten the dec against ellenberger jr...but i also know that he's a bit too fancy to risk disfigurement and brane damage in pursuit of idiot glory forever..

The loss to Joe Ellenberger was bullshit.

Anyway, I think he got tired of getting wrestlefucked.

On the regional circuit, he beat up some cans to go 7-1 over a span of 6 years. He got to the UFC, went 2-4, probably got released, and didn't want to go back to the regional circuit, hence "retirement".

Cowboy Oliveira brutalised him. It was pretty bad. I think that was his last fight. May just be he felt it wasn't for him. Still a really fun guy to watch. I loved his flying elbow into Joe Ellenberger's guard in his debut
