Gomi's bread and butter used to be his ground game. BJ Penn was pounding his back of the head into the canvas but it took three rounds for him to get the tap. Not to mention Bj Penn basically stayed on Gomi's back for like entire round but couldn't get the choke.

It probably wasn't his strongest suit, nor the best around, but it wasn't so weak that as soon as it hits the ground, he just looks like some guy who just happened to be there inside the octagon.

To say that it's a fucking disappointment would be the under-fucking-statement of the century.

Gomi had a passable ground game, his bread & butter was his fastball cross.

Jim Miller's jiujitsu is A++, Gomi gets wrecked on the ground against him even if he was still in his prime.

He is doing his best late career Sakuraba impression.

lol

Scrubs like Miller wouldn't have touched Prime Gomi.

gomi was produnct of the pride hype machine

TS must be confusing Gomi with someone else if he thinks grappling was ever his 'bread and butter' LOL

Damn Gomi was a monster in the past. The gomi sakurai fights back at pride... Gomi prime > RDA, conor, alvarez, aldo

he's almost 40, has taken a ton of punishment, drinks and smokes regularly
so what happened is that it went down the toilet like all the other aging fighters

Yes, I am disappointing too. Gomi used to be a monster. :(
