When I was a kid there was always a turn style rack of comic books for sale at every grocery store. Where have they gone?

I still buy comics but the shop I go to, you have to wad through magic and other board gamers to get to to comics. It smells like BO and hot pockets but it is much more fulfilling than online shopping.

This, plus the ink and quality is different. Now a comic costs 5-7 bucks easily. If they were still made like they were in the past they'd cost like a buck.

I used to be in a D&D group and a Warhammer group. The majority made showering and deodorant mandatory.

I'm in a Heroclix group and we're really casual until it's a tournament for an ultra-rare prize... Then, the gloves come OFF.

I really want them to do a Justice League Unlimited set.

Marvel Comics went to shit after they were bought by Disney, and raised the price to $4 an issue.

Then, it became even shittier after they've gone full SJW.

When I was a kid, comics were fifteen cents and you could find one of those stands in every corner store. I used to get an allowance of a quarter and I'd go to the store, buy a comic, and a handful of candy.

I stopped buying them when they hit a dollar in the eighties.

There are still quite a few comic shops here in Montreal, but titles are far too expensive.

Not really. If you are a collector, some of those comic books are worth a lot. I take it you don't go to the movies to watch the DC and Marvel Comics heroes on screen. Missing out on this one:

So you sit through 2+ hours to fantasize about women wearing superhero suits punching people? Watching a 4 min scene at bangbros then carrying on with your day sounds much more productive.

    The man-child argument still stands.

I still buy em from a store in town. But I'm not, and have never really been, in to super hero comics. I'm more in to "graphic novel" style comics, crime, noir, sci fi, that kind of thing.
