This is one of the sad falls from the top in MMA. He was so talented and on a path for greatness 2 years ago but now? Yikes he looks lost out there. Did the RDA fight really change his career forever. Sad..

Thing is the RDA fight didn't do nothing to him. His chin is still great. But he didn't improve.

His current run is hard to watch.

I know how to answer these questions.... lets see. oh ya! was never good to being with

It was over when he made the Wheaties cover.

He's still good, but seems to have hit a plateau. Edson was a fight tailor-made for him to show his best game and he failed.

Maybe the drop to 145 he promised when he was booked against Aldo isn't such a bad idea.

seems like he's lost the spring he used to have. injuries maybe. it's not like he's fighting guys that are dog meat either

he's had tough match ups.

This guy used to be a nightmare on the feet and now he is tentative and almost scared to engage..

I think RDA stole his soul honestly. Some guys just aren't the same after beatdowns, they lose confidence. In this fight there is no excuse of wrestling or anything, Barboza stood with him for 15 mins and beat him up. Pettis needs to take a break and reasses his career imo.

I wish I knew what happened. It's not only that the game caught up to him, but his striking has seriously regressed, his set-ups and footwork used to be so much better, I don't understand.

Anthony Pettis was never good to begin with...

He was always this guy.

He's simply lost confidence in his own skill.

Henderson and Gilbert could have also beaten him, just caught them with some nice submissions.

Alvarez was way too clever, and RDA is just the man in all facets. Barboza is simply a better version of Pettis.

Same old Anthony!

If he was Brazilian people here would say that USADA happened and that he was a cheater.

But since he is your standard American pretty boy, he is just "not that good".

Good but not great. Never was really well-rounded like an Aldo, Jones or GSP, always had a significant weakness in wrestling. And is fighting in the strongest, deepest division of course.

Just proves once again how tough it is to stay at the top for an extended period of time like Aldo, GSP, DJ, Jones and Anderson. It's one thing to have a good 18-24 months streak, it's another to be elite for 4, 5, 6 years.

Also, USADA?
