Bobby Who?
Yep... I was just about to post this... and Bobby was the lead singer too.
Bobby Who?
Didn't the Grateful Dead go through a bunch of members as well? I'm not sure if any classic albums came out after losing key members though.
He gave the band inspiration. Im a firm believer in the band after syd, but what he did, to inspire so much of their music after he left couldnt have happened without him.
He's the ultimate muse.
They also did alright when waters left. No where near as good as when he was with them though
Didn't Bon Scott play a significant role in the making of Back in Black?
My posts got deleted? Seriously? What is the justification for that - that I was right?
Van Halen was huge with David Lee Roth but had more success/hits with Sammy Hagar.
Traveling Wilburys without Roy Orbison

They may have had more hits, but I wouldn't say any Hagar era VH albums were classic.
I was about to say this but didn't want to endure the inevitable shitstorm David Lee Roth fans are about to rain down. I am already trying to explain to a bunch of millenials why Kurt Cobain was more famous than Dave Grohl in another thread.
Right, I forgot about the classic part... was thinking more along the lines of success.
lol Soda
And on the Pink Floyd thing... Saying they lost Sid Barrett and then got huge is like saying the Beatles lost Pete Best and then......those bands weren't massive when losing those members.
... but when Pink Floyd lost Roger Waters they made Delecate Sound of Thunder which was very successful and some might say a classic but really its average at best.
