Dutch MMA fan said:Reading a all your training schedules I'm wondering how you all combine this effectively with school/study/work.
I'm a fulltime student and I'm working on my master thesis right now as well as attending some courses (all adding up to appr. 40-50 hours a week) and I really have to plan right and work hard to fit every thing in and have some kind of a social life too!
If someone feels like telling me how they go about this, please!
Another thing I noticed is that a lot of you don't have many rest-days in your schedules. I have 2 every week and mostly work this schedule for two months followed by 1 week total rest and then start again. If I don't do this or if I reduce the numer of rest-days in my schedule, I usually start to get burned out a bit sooner or later. I won't progress as fast anymore (or I won't at all anymore) and I'm getting more prone to injuries.
Tell me how you all deal with that please!
For me it is a tough juggling act, but one that I need to do. I am historically a fat bastard and would revert to such if I got too slack. I work everyday Mon-Fri come home and spend some time with my family most nights. I have young kids and after they go to bed I work out. 45min-1hour at the most.
I have everything I need at home, Olympic weights, cage, bench, some cheap puzzle mats, heavy bad, a cd player, and an understanding spouse. The schedule I posted earlier is what I did last week. It will be similar but not the same this week. What doesn't usually change is the trip to Thai boxing and the Sat schedule.
