Usman has had 5 title defenses so far. 15-0 UFC record. GSP lost twice (Serra, Hughes) and Usman has never been in a close fight unlike GSP (Hendricks, Penn I).
I mean if Usman beats Leon again and then Khamzat and Shavkat how can you not say he is the greatest? Less title defenses but lot more impressive and dominant career at WW.

He's not going to. He's running out of places to go other than non-title fight MWs because he's getting smoked by some of the top MWs and LHws will wreck him too

The newer great WWs are coming. His days are numbered as champion..

If he equals GSP in the stats, you should still struggle to put him ahead unless you count GSP's defeats heavily against him. How many all time greats has Usman beaten? Not that many.

I dont really think hes been as dominant or impressive. Even with his two losses, GSP still has a staggering 21 wins with the UFC.

If Usman manages to beat Leon, Khamzat, and Shavkat though, I might give him the edge for beating a wider variety of fighters in a more international and competetive UFC.

Tbh Usman doesn’t need to defend 13 times to take Gsp’s spot. The problem is that he’s fighting ballooned up lightweights or the same guys twice. His champion legacy is lacking depth. Welterweight was shit and it’s slowly turning into something better now, the Leon fight is ok but nothing amazing specially because it’s yet another rematch. If Chimaev wins his next fight, Usman should go for that fight. It will be a young, hungry guy with massive hype behind him, pristine record and they haven’t fought before.
