    I wear Shorts + RG.

you can wear shorts + a shirt, but baggy shirts can be annoying.

To nogi I wear cheap boardshorts, compression shorts, a cup, and a rashguard.

I would recommend getting some boardshorts, you can get a cheap no name brand at a place like ross for like $10, and you can just wear a t shirt you dont care about the first few times.

i've been wearing board shorts and rash guard under armour. I wouldnt mind buying some gi pants to have a better grip while trying for rubber guard techniques.

Last time and almost only time that i didnt have a rashguard washed, i wore a (long sleeve) shirt, some moron tried to " collar choke " me with my shirt.....

To OP, i prefer the hayabusa shorts over the venum ones.
    Just personal opinion.

It seems in my school all the new guys come in with super tight rash guards and fight shorts, where as the more experienced guys seem to just wear regular t shirts or looser dry fit shirts with pocketless shorts or gi pants

To each their own, and this is coming from a poor college student, but I wouldnt recommend spending $50 or $60+ on a pair of shorts when you dont even know if you are going to like it. A LOT of people try bjj and quit pretty quickly after. Hopefully you wont be one of those people, and if youve got the money thats cool, but I wouldnt recommend it!

True true , i notice doing it myself , i still do it , but it finally starts to become less important.
Its just insecurity , wanting everyone to know that you fight , or do martial arts.:icon_chee

it is better to buy a proper nogi short as they are design to last and grapple as well.

the surf short might be cheaper but they are not convenient.

ughh... I cant stand the t-shirt guys though... my toes and fingers get caught in them all the time....

as for myself....I like a tight rashguard cause it doesn't get heavy when you sweat like a t-shirt.... a shirt will quadruple in weight when you sweat its crazy....

wear whatever.... just don't be the guy that grapples topless.....

I wear the gym shirt, and shorts. I do have some NoGi gear and such, sprawl shorts, usually just wear normal stuff though. Do have a rash guard I use on occasion.

I personally don't wear a gi during no-gi, but I might be strange like that.

Being serious though, I usually just train my a T shirt and MMA shorts.
