I actually first saw LaFlare fight in NJ at Ring of Combat and he schooled some dude. Then he came to the UFC and has looked pretty damn good.

He fights out of an excellent camp (http://www.limixedmartialarts.com/) with a bunch of bad dudes, and also spends some time with the Blackzilians. I'm not totally sure, but I think he's part owner of Long Island MMA. So he's probably not fighting because he needs the money. And he's 30, which is kind of an on the fence age. Could be at his prime, could be past his prime.

Anyway, I'm pretty psyched on the guy. I hope they give him either a notable dude or top 15-ish kind of dude next.

I'm just curious how far the guy can go. He has a solid skill set, but I can't really tell how much trouble he's going to be for everyone just yet.

I think he has potential to be peaking into the top ten by the end of the year. He's very well rounded, executes smart gameplans with good timing, and his cardio is on point. The McGee win was a solid performance.

I'd like to see him against the Story/Gastelum winner or the Waldburger/Pyle winner.

The nature boy has all the skills to continue climbing up the ladder.

Yeah, I'd definitely dig either of the potential matchups you mentioned. They're all in the wheelhouse of what I was talking about- someone who is a good test and a natural step towards fighting someone in the top ten.

It's crazy how welterweight just opened right up when GSP vacated the title.

Really high. His striking is technically sound so that he outpoints brawlers and grinders like Court McGee with ease, and his ground work has been really impressive too. The full package.

Him and Brandon Thatch are the two best prospects at 170 right now. Sky's the limit for both of them.

he is a freak.
he got everything, he is fast and he is able to take down everybody.

one of my favorite prospects. top 10 at ww aint too shabby, which is where he is at skill wise

He's like a poor mans GSP imo. Fringe top 10 but ultimately gate keeper. I think he lacks the K.O power to be a contender.

I think he's got potential to crack the top ten, but I haven't seen much more than that to make me think he'll do anything more than linger in the lower top ten or just outside it. Awesome guy to keep an eye on though. He's tenacious as hell, plays his game regardless of his opponent's style.

It's funny, because I've been trying to figure out what I like about LaFlare and I think you kind of touched on it. I've always dug Nick Diaz, who is tenacious as hell and tends to play his game regardless of his opponent's style.

I guess I just think there's something cool about that. Live by the sword/die by the sword shit is cool.

I think he'll make some waves...

I don't see him getting very far into the top ten.

I'm a big fan... Which normally means he'll beat everyone outside the top 10 then get wrestlefucked to death like all the other fighters I like, but I have a feeling that he could be something special...

I think he might shine for a moment looking bright but fade out

A win over Court shows he is a solid fighter...hope to see him soon....

Good everywhere, but doesn't seem to excel at any particular skill. He did beat McGee in volume punching, which is impressive, but there isn't that real sense of danger in any area of his skillset that sets the best apart from the others. It's a very middleweight style skillset. It's not like he cannot improve though, but at this point right now, I can see him doing well, but not really breaking above that 9-15 ranking spot that a lot of fighters have been stuck in through the years.
