Just light conditioning? sprints? what works for you? I'm thinkin of doing a light jog and eat a light pasta meal tonight.

If I've been training hard in the weeks leading up to the day of the match, I'll take the day before the match off and dedicate that whole day to resting so that my body can be as healed up as possible the day of the match. The only working out I'd do the day before a match is a light jog for about 30 minutes if I still have a few pounds I'm trying to lose.

A day of rest is important and your body will thank you if you've been training hard.

If my weight is ok, I'll eat and rest 2 days before a fight (so if fighting sunday, thursday light training session, fri eat, sat eat, sun fight, mon eat)

I think I need to at least jog a day before, it helps keep my metabolism up. 2 days of resting for me seems like it would slow me down too much. Maybe I'm just paranoid (mental). But I have toned it down this last week. I should probably write down what I've done before this comp and compare it to how i felt the day of/after competing and use it for future reference. I wish I knew my body more. I should start paying more attention.

seriously though, rest

Doing any training less then a week out should be entirely skills based with at most a heavy sweat

like was said above, take it easy. you want to be 100%. Also eat lots of good carbs (not to much)

My only experience so far, we did a hard pad/bag round on the Wednesday but 2 min instead of 3 min rounds, and it was pretty nice to know you can go really hard for 2 and not get tired.
The thursday we just skipped and shadow boxed for about 45 mins. Friday was the drive so we did S.F.A. and then fought Saturday. Everyone was in good shape, made weight easily and was relaxed and slept well the night before.

I think thats huge, to relax, keep loose and get a real good sleep before.

Eat a T-bone steak the night before. Fat is a great energy source

Oh one other thing, don't eat or do anything you haven't been for the past few weeks. No point in monkey wrenching your stomach the night before.

Good advice. Some of us have learned this the hard way.
