I've wondered this for a while and heard different answers. Can't find anything definitive. When a Brazilian fighter lands a good strike in a fight, his corner yells something that sounds like "OH AH!" What word is that and what does it mean?
No one knows what they yell because no one understands Portuguese. No one understands what comes out of those flapping tongued, talking heads draped in green and yellow. No one. :icon_chee
Boa comment is probably correct...won't bother to check. All I know is it's super annoying when they yell it even after a whiffed head kick.
apparently the crowd chants "you're gonna die" at foreign fighters during fights in brazil. true story.
kmill is right. i went to 148 and heard it then the next day i asked some brazilian people i found at the pool at the mgm what they were saying, and what they were chanting was 'you're gonna die'. i think it's slang though too another fun fact, i asked if they hated america because of chael. turns out, many of them actually like chael and america. america, fuck yea.
when chaels book was released most of its sales were in brazil, apparently hes a huge celebrity (in the mma world) over there.
booooaaa means nice or good oneeee EEEEEEEEEEEEY = chute boxe annoying coaches probably trying to influence judges that the delected crappy leg kick was a meaningfull strike
