My vote goes to 135/145 or 185/205.

125 is full of 5'3 guys that can't really compete at 135.

135 is full of skinny 5'8 guys like Cruz that could fight at 145.

Most of those skinny 5'8 145 guys don't have the RDA thick frames to fight at 155.

There's a huge jump between the 5'11-6'2 guys at 170 and 5'9 hulks like Woodley and the smaller guys at 155.

MW guys are 6'+ and have thick frames that the 6' 170 ectomorphs or thin framed mesomorphs just don't have. Under 5'11 guys don't really exist here.

Frames larger than thick framed 6' frames are a very small part of the population. It's small enough that 6'+ thick framed guys also make up most of LHW. Most of LHW and MW have the same frame sizes, just eat differently. Guys like Jones are rare.

HW is just a different build of guy than LHW, mostly. That hasn't always been the case -- Cro Cop, Fedor, Nog, etc all had modern 205 frames. Guys like Stipe, Carwin, Gonzaga, etc are huge guys.

185-205. Even though most MWs train and fight at 205.

The heavier divisions...

(duuuurrrrr)

Edit, didnt read. Thought you meant biggest size discrepancy

185 to 205 is 20 lbs.

Id go with that

135 is a good call (especially since they signed O'Malley!)

In general (and historically) it must be HW cause you have everything from the short stocky fighters (e.g., DC, Fedor, Cain) to skyscrapers like Hong Man Choi and Stefan Struve.

145/155/170 seem to have a lot of overlap. I'm 6' and I feel like my frame could do those three weight classes but neeeever middleweight.

155/170 seem to share a lot of overlap. Cowboy and RDA are the more notable crossovers, but I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

I'd say 145 is the worst. There are a lot of 6'1+ twig guys.

125-Jacked midgets
135- average heights 5'6-5'9
145- Jacked midgets and string bean giants 5'3-6-3
155- Average height fighters and slightly above average fighters fit build 5'8-6'2
170,180- Jacked fighters 5'9-6'3
205-6'2-6'4 fit built but could put on mass and be HW
HW-6'0-6'8/9-Range from average fat fighters, tall massive fighters, then giant string beans
