Right now we’re in an odd spot. A lot of long time champions are stepping down, retiring, or being dethroned.
    Cejudo retired
    Khabib retired
    Max Holloway was dethroned
    Cormier retired
    Stipe sure is close
    Jones vacated
Izzy is talking about moving up
Usman is close to clearing his division If you don’t think he has already

And realistically this has all really come to a head in the last 6 months. A lot of the divisions I used to feel very invested in have lost some steam, and others like flyweight, I’m now suddenly invested in. So I’m interested to hear your thoughts. Feel free to discuss divisions that you’ve lost interest in as well.

Cheese is a topping, not a type of sandwich. Unless you’re 10 years old and have parents that don’t know how to raise you.

Bantamweight and Featherweight have the best matchups to be made for sure.

Bantamweight is so stacked that guys like Raoni Barcelos are outside the rankings. Not to mention guys like Sandhagen and Aljo waiting for their crack at the belt.

FW has Volkanovski ready to defend against someone not names Max Holloway, the rise of Ortega 2.0, not to mention the inconsistent Zabit chillin waiting to be tested in a 5 rounder.

MW is a close third, followed by WW.

Welterweight is the general answer I come up with. More possibilities for catch weight super fights between big names at 185 and 155

Probably BW or LW now that Khabib is retired.

I don’t see anyone beating Usman or Izzy in their respective divisions in the near future. BW and LW are the divisions with the most depth where I feel like even unranked guys are potential title contenders (Barcelos & Tsarukyan).

welterweight was not an answer I expected anyone to say. Is there a particular fighter you’re a big fan of there?

See, I knew featherweight would be mentioned a lot. I think volkanovskis title run is going to look a lot like usman. Those two...I just don’t expect them to lose for a long time.

I agree LW is deep. I think my issue with LW is how long it feels like the top 5 has looked almost exactly the way it does right now. Dan hooker was fun. Paul felder was fun.

but they need to mingle those top guys like Poirer and Justin with the rest of the division.
Maybe chandlers arrival will help that out a bit

Honest answer and they are really a shambles are my two (long time) favorite divisions....

LHW/HW - but I enjoy them all at times and not so sure I'm really invested deeply in any.

Cheese isnt just a topping btw.

For the just bleed god fans lhw is actually amazing. It’s full or brawlers and big strong dudes that hunt for ko’s. I think we’re gonna see that belt in at least 5 different hands in the next 2 years. If Izzy or jones don’t take it.

I'll always gravitate toward LHW/HW the most but MW is more interesting right now for me.

If I had to pick one guy I’m watching very closely, I’d say Geoff Neal. Still need to see him really tested on the ground, but damn- He has really passed every other test with flying colors so far

I’m a big Neal fan. The long layoff is killing me. I needed to see him back in the octagon months ago.
